  • 1.  What is the root cause of IP in SpamCop list ?

    Posted Jan 23, 2017 01:03 PM

As posted in the ClientNet Service Alerts, there have been several cases where a Symantec IP address is in the SpamCop list.

We have had quite a few internal support cases,  because email is rejected when people send email to partners that use SpamCop.

Is there a "root cause"   that explains why this is occuring so often recently ?

What steps can be taken to reduce this problem ?

It is a real problem for us.

    Thanks

    Hello Mike-SMTP-250,

In order to get a detailed response in regards to service specific concerns, I would recommend you raise a support case with the Email Security.Cloud support team via the Support Ticketing Center or via phone so that a detailed accounting of the issue can be provided.

I apologize if this pose any inconvenience to you.

    Regards,

    Thanks for the Reply.

Yes, we have already opened several formal Support Cases at ClientNet.

We are looking for more information on the root cause, and perhaps a statement of how SpamCop fits into the anti-spam environment.

We wonder if Symantec is "allowing" emails that look like spam to the other systems ?

Can we coach or suggest to business partners on what anti-spam tools to use ?

    And so on.

    Thanks.
