I dont think Symantec needs to acquire anyone. I think the protection suites, are a fantastic value as it is. You are getting anywhere from 30-70% off buying the suite, than buying ala carte. Buy the Enterprise Suite with the 8-9 products it includes, and it's the price of just two of the products in the suite.
Part of being a reseller and consultant to your customers, is explaining the value to them that they are already receiving. Which IMO, they are. Symantec is even gracious enough to provide a number of specials for people who are out of maintenance to true-up, competitive discounts, and competitive displacements.
If there is something Symantec needs to work on is investing in support more, making the products more stable, and doing a better job of integrating their core products together. All of them are lacking or are taking way too long to be effective in a sales discussion unless we're talking a 5yr IT plan. :barf:
