  • 1.  where to see what symantec firewall is blocking?

    Posted Dec 12, 2017 01:28 PM

I have a small group of women in our BDC department, two of which are using Windows 10.

For them to be able to download / retrieve their emails from our CRM server they have to "turn OFF" the firewall within Symantec EndPoint Protection.

Where can I go to see what's being blocked by the firewall so I can add an exception so they don't keep turning off the firewall? They keep turning it off for 5 hours at a time.

I ran the Firewall History Reports and nothing is being reported.

Our Windows 7 users aren't having this problem. We're using Windows 7 pro 64bit and Windows 10 pro 64bit.

    Symantec.cloud - Cloud Agent 3.00.10.2737

    Symantec.cloud - Endpoint Protection NIS-22.9.3.13

    Thanks,

    brad

Can I assume because I "didn't" have Report Blocked Events tagged, that's why I wasn't seeing anything in my reports?

When you say "Traffic Log", where are you referring to? I don't see anything referring to traffic logs on the website(cloud).

Sorry, but are you referring to the History?

I don't see any "Traffic Logs".

You will need to turn on the option to log blocked events before you will see any blocked firewall activity in your alerts.

OK, I'm back with the same problem.

I have a couple of Pc's that are having trouble opening a program or opening emails. If they turn off the Symantec Firewall all works fine.

Problem is nothing is being reported as being blocked. No popup messages saying it caught anything and deleted or quarantined a file.

I'm more at a loss as to what to do next. I'm working with the Company that provides the software to us and I've added 4 files to the exclusion list but that hasn't helped.

Any suggestions on where I should look next?
