    Hi there,

Download Insights is currently blocking the installation of the latest Moovweb 5 SDK. My company doesn't allow disabling nor adding this software to the exceptions for the entire company.

How long does it usually take to whitelist new releases of applications? Are there any workarounds that I can run on my local machine?

    Thanks,

    JC

In my experience it can take up to a few weeks or even a month to get this done. Unfortunately, either whitelisting or exceptions are the way to go and the latter doesn't seem to be an option for you. Can you temporarily disable insight to do the download?

Have you tried adding this as a user-defined exception on your SEP client as a workaround?  This is accessible from the SEP Client Console, under "Change Settings -> Exceptions -> Change Settings" and will exist on your machine only. Alternatively, you might try right-clicking on the SEP systray icon and clicking "Disable SEP".

These options are provided under the assumption that the administrator has not already locked these settings down.  If these settings have been locked down (and are therefore not available) you're gonna have to ask the admins for available options (as you're not allowed centralised exceptions).

As a SEPM admin we lock down these settings per our CISO. However, we maintain a special Group in the SEPM for Development work where Centralized Exceptions are allowed by those endpoints for situations like this. But this is something you will have to ask your SEPM admin/IT or IS Security POC. Developers usually have more latitude - than the rest of the population as to User-Defined Exceptions on the SEP agent. Go that route like SMLatCST suggests.

Thank you all for your prompt reply. All of them are very usefull, will try the various alternatives, I also posted the question on twitter and Symantec support provided also useful information:
