I've had 6 of our workstations get infected in 2009 while Endpoint Protection11  layed quitely in the taskbar tray - definition files up to date - I had to download Avast free edition to clean all 6 machines - Endpoint protection didn't send out any signs of infection until Avast detected the files..... We are looking at alternatives and Kaspersky is one, can't be any worse than Endpoint.

have you seen the two reports attached .

If an antivrus is unable to detect after 2 months then only god can save that user.

and I must say every antivirus has its day .if  kaspersky is first for a virus today then sep is for other virus some otherday. same goes for mcafee ,avast ,trend micro etc.

but I have seen sep detects within 4-5 days of others start detcting.

    Hi david
Have you ever used system lockdown in sep. I can gurantee you for 99.99% protection using this.Even with old virus definations.
    Does Kaspersky has this feature.
I have uploaded a video of using system lockdown which will be published soon.watch out that.

Ever hear the term, "A necessary evil?"  That is what AV is.

No one product is going to be faster at catching threats than the other.  Each vendor leap frogs each other every definition they make.
What sets each apart is the management, the ease of use, resources used, and support options.  If you are buying based on cost, god help you.

All these people here complaining about SEP missing something..  50% of them have on AV enabled.  The other portions, have local admin privileges applied, or no tamper protection...  Go to a competitor website's forums, and I'll bet my paycheck that those users of those respective products have the same issues we do.

The difference here, is we're all trying to be supportive of each other and better the community in insisting that users submit the files to Symantec, document their findings, and we suggest ways to improve security.
