  • 1.  Why updating definitions is so resource consuming?

    Posted Aug 17, 2017 06:07 AM

Every morning i go through the same routine "Oh, no, i can't do anything yet and all the apps are showing "No responding" because SEP needs to update". This is not a 10 years old PC. It has SSD, i3-4000M (which is more than ok for office work), 4 GB of RAM. Nothing else manages to bring this PC to a halt other than SEP updates. Why can't this process be on a lowest possible priority? It is not so critical. And maybe it can launch later in the day and not just after the system start.

Request you to please provide us with more information, so that we could assist you with your issue.

What version of SEP are you running?

Is this the only machine, you facing issues with?

Is the machine connected to internet?

SEP 14.0.2332.0100. Though i think it was the same with 12. Physical laptop. Connected to internet, but it gets definitions from an internal SEPM server. I haven't asked anyone else if they notice this.
