I am rolling a new PC that is not on our domain, but once I search the W10 updates and attempt to install the updates it wants me to remove SEP which is version 14. What options do I have???

    SEP 14 MP1 is compatible:

Make sure Windows had Windows Update run and the machine is patched up before installing SEP. There was a block on it at one point but should've been removed.

MS blocks what it see's as incompatible software from running until the build is officially released. It usually removes it right before.

I am having a similar issue when trying to install SEP client extracted from my on site console/server onto newly purchased windows 10 pro laptops.  I get 'This app can't run on this PC' 'Symantec Endpoint Protection doesn't work on tis version of Windows.  An updated app may be available'

I have googled this over and over and have not found a solution. To add, I go to install this on new windows 10 pro desktops and it installs perfectly.  Both the desktops and the laptops are up to date with windows updates etc.

We're having a very similar issue: trying to install SEP14 onto a brand new Win10 laptop and getting:

This app can’t run on this PC.

Symantec Endpoint Protection doesn’t work on this version of Windows.

An updated app may be available

Tried turning windows defender off - no joy.

Just installing the two 12.1.6 compatibility patches. We'll see how that goes!

I've just suceeded. Had to export the install package NOT as a single setup.exe and then it installed without upsetting Windows compatibility assistant.

    Hello,

I just installed window 10 update to 1703 and I am unable to reinstall SEP 14.

I am blocked and get a window that states SEP dosn't work on this version.

Is there an update that fixes this, our do I stop using SEP? I have tried Liz's work around but no Joy.

    Thanks,

    Dwayne

I would advise running the Cleanwipe utility in order to remove any traces of the previous SEP client installation.

I would advise obtaining the latest client/server packages from the Symantec Download site. You are fortunate that you got that error. Symantec CRASHED my machines!

Thanks BNSCORPIO, unfortunately I discovered I was also unable to RDP into our Win Server 2008 RR2 machine, just got a black screen, so I have gone back to my previouse windows version, SEP installed and RDP working.

    Cheers,
