    when we capture our windows 7 image and then push it out it does two things first it deactivate windows second it does not join the computers to the domain. We had not problem with xp doing this. Is there something that I am missing  the computer are dell 760 and they are all the same. we are using ghost cast server to do this with .

    Are you using Sysprep?  This will remove any activation.

    Also Windows 7 will detect a change of hardware and also require reactivation.

    Are you giving the machines a new identity and if so how are you doing it?  We need more details of your process in order to understand what you are doing.

    We have been using Ghost for a number of years - this year we are deploying "Gold"  Windows 7 image to 6000 systems and have had to learn new tricks - we now not only have the "Gold" base image we have to have an additional "Deploy" image here is an Microsoft Technet that helps us understand some of your chalenges

    Hello,

    Even if you dont use sysprep, you need to re-activate the Windows 7 if you are deploying on different hardware. As EDT mentioned, please let us know the process which you are adapting to deploy image. This will help us to investigate and help you further.
