  • 1.  Windows 7 & SEP11 USB Log Notification off

    Posted Mar 23, 2012 11:49 AM

    Hi every one,

Some strange issues about SEP11 on Windows 7.

    Actually our version is this one : 11.0.61.645 (11.0 RU6 MP1)

We migrated our whole workstation computers from NAV10 to SEP11 in 2011 based on Windows XP SP3 32Bits.

They are installed with FIREWALL, to be able to manage policy for desktop computer to log with Application and Device Control all USB traffic. And of course it works fine, the user when writing on USB device got a notification from SEP11 icontray.

We only log USB traffic, nothing is blocked.

This year we prepare Windows 7 64Bits migration.

We exported the same way we did for XP the 64bits Windows 7 package to manual install and Landesk Deployment.

The features are the same, Windows 7 test machine are in the same Site group than XP machine and got the same Application and Device Control policy for USB logging.

But no notifications for USB traffic on Windows 7 even for Firewall policy on Windows 7 test laptop we got the processes blocked notification ok.

We did ourselves bad on Windows 7 image or missed in features ?

    Thanks a lot for reply.

SEP 11.x application and device control does not support 64bit OS, which is why you are not seeing anything being logged. Our newer 12.1 product supports both 32bit and 64bit OS.

Thanks for your reply but i'm so surprised of this kind of answer.

SEP11 was made for 32 and 64bits (64Bits packages available for export).

We choose SEP11 because it was XP and Seven proofed and tested.

Strange product than this one, Seven compatible but not all Seven version :(.
