  • 1.  Windows fail to login after the recent version update.

    Hi all,

    HELP REQUIRED.

We have updated Symantec End Point Upgraded from 14.2.1023.0100 to Build Number: 14.2.1031.0100 yesterday.

There are some computers where we have issues in updating the version either remote push, auto update by SEPM, install manually etc. The computer doesn't bring the windows up. a circular progress indication keeps on running, and this happens for hours.

We have used CleanWipe and tried above-mentioned ways to install SEP, but no luck.

We faced the same issue when we updated from 14.2.758.0000 to 14.2.1023.0100.

Most of the computers (90%) updated fine, but somehow some are not.

    Thanks

Download and run SymDiag on an affected machine and see what th results come back with. Have you tried Intelligent Updater?

Thanks, Brian, we tried the SymDiag, and have tried all options given in the recommendations, but so far no luck.

Intelligent updater doesn't apply to us since after the new build is installed; the windows fail to boot up, after the windows 10 logo, we get a black screen where a circular progress indicator keeps on rotating and it does for hours and hours.

What we understand (looking at the attached image) is that both the versions of SEP somehow collide with each other on the same machine. We have tried again the cleanwipe, but no luck.
