    Hi Brain,

Thanks for your quick response. Can we use the lower version after buying higher edition license? will the updates available?

I don't believe you will be able to get 11.x if you purchase a 12.1 license.

Send an email to licensing@symantec.com, they will get you the answers you need.

You can create a version 11 package... it's included on the installation media.

    Hi NGBalaji,

Thumbs up for the news about Windows 2000, above.

For Windows NT, the only product that offers any protection (IDS) is Symantec Data Center Security: Server & Server Advanced (http://www.symantec.com/data-center-security/system-requirements).

Please update the thread with news if this has answered your query!

    Many thanks,

    Mick

I really think your best bit for Windows NT is to stop looking for a product and drive the question what is it that NT is required for? The O/S has not been supported for a decade.

Whilst you will have Windows 2000 support for some time, a similar discussion should begin about that platform as it will be the next one to be expelled from any support.

Granted there may be some apps not written for currently supported O/S's but how long is long enough.

When you download the SEP 12 part 1 (from symantec fileconnect) and extract it in the SEPM > AdditionalPackages > SAVLegacy32.dat these packages can be imported to your SEPM to install on Legacy machines.

Is this what you're looking for?

I think you need to create a new version for this.
