Yosemite Support for PGP - Encryption Desktop

I get an error that because of the Java version, 10.3.2MP3 cannot be installed on Mac Osx Yosemite.

I believe 10.3.2MP3 is the latest Encryption Desktop version. Am I missing something? Is it not supported? How can I install it?

How come little snitch and all other low level software work fine when there is a new osx version and always the PGP is the blocker?

    Help appreciated.

Symantec Encryption Desktop version 10.3.2 mp4 is the latest release, but it still does not support Yosemite.  Our support for OS X can be found here:
    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH174563

I would advise anyone interested in Yosemite support to open a ticket with technical support, and request Yosemite support.

I am currently trying out if it works on Yosemite (previous experiences suggest it won't), you can fix the Java error message by installing this: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572 Well, the operating system actually survived the restart after installation and now the drive is being encrypted. I won't be able to give an update until a day or three - I am only running this in a virtual machine, I'll need to test this with a 'real' Mac to see whether it will actually work on Mac hardware, but I won't have the time to today.

Thank you Peter, the Java update fixed the problem that prevented Symantec Encryption Desktop from starting and now it works fine for me. I'm using PGP messaging and PGP Zip, in both cases everything works as in Mavericks. I'm not using disk encryption so I can't comment if it works.

Generally the best practice is to first check if the new OS is supported with the disk encryption software before you upgrade :) but I upgraded anyway.

Anyone know where I can get MP4? When I go through File Connect, MP3 is still the latest version available to me, even though there are press releases, etc. saying MP4 is available.

You need to open a case with Symantec and ask for MP4 version avaiable there.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

A feature request has been submitted to request compatibility with Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3.2 (Including Drive Encryption Functionality) with Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)

Refer this article: FEATURE REQUEST - Symantec Encryption Desktop compatibility with Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)

Feature request was last updated 10/20/14, is there an update on Symantec's progress on supporting this operating system?

It seems symantec should at least have a position on yosemite support. It is strange for one group of people at symantec to open a "ticket" for a different group of people asking them to add support for the latest version of OS X to their OS X product line. Why don't the people maintaining the OS X product line just open a ticket for themselves to do it, and also post somewhere about their plans? Not sure what the reason for the silence is. Could someone on the development team simply explain what their plans are for Yosemite? Should we expect an update at some point? Is support being dropped, or a release being planned? Any wild guess as to when an update supporting Yosemite might come out? It is odd that the OS X user community has to simply wait in silence and guess about this. Communication please?

    Hi,

You can expect the official support from the next month however there is no committed date for this request from the Endpoint Encryption Product Management team, nor from the Endpoint Encryption Engineering team at this time.

Symantec has released new client 10.3.2 MP6.

This client is compatible for Mac OS X 10.10 yosemite. You can download it from fileconnect.symantec.com

Please close this thread as I've already provided the solution in my previous thread.

I didn't from where to mark as solution.
