Storing KB Articles by categories to limit permissions.

I had created a category in KnowledgeBase called IT Only.  In there I was placing articles that only IT professionals should see.  However, I found that when I searched for an article as a regular user, the items that were included in the IT only Category were also displaying in the results.  I understand the search results do not use the category to filter out items that should not display.  It is not until the article is clicked to open it, that the user gets the notification informing them they do not have access.  I don't want regular users to see articles meant for only IT professionals.
