  • 1.  How works file reputation check

    Hi,


    Couple days ago i had a report about file reputation check error, can you explain how it works and from which user it starts?


    I have been checked internet access of server to your sites and server has access, but may this error occurs because logon user have no access?

    Computer
    Current User
    IP Address

    Domain Name
    Server Name
    Group Name

    Product Version

    File Reputation Detection

    Event Time

       

    12.1.7004.6500

    Reputation check for unproven files failed because of network errors for the last 3 days.

    There is an explanation on their KB site:

    How Symantec Endpoint Protection uses reputation data to make decisions about files

     The PCs need Internet access to do reputation checks.

    Hi Dmitry,

    Check out the video, Symantec Endpoint Protection 12: Insight which demonstrates how Insight works.  There is also a video on the Insight / Reputation-Based Security page.

    Definitely ensure that all your computers can access the online Reputation servers!
