One of the challenges of having end users with local administrator rights is that they can stop and disable critical services such as the Symantec Management Agent. One option would be to remove end user administrator rights and apply them back to applications as needed using Arellia Application Control Solution. A standard user cannot stop the Symantec Management Agent.

When removing end user administrator rights is not an option, we can secure critical services. In this video, you will see how to secure the Symantec Management Agent service using Arellia Local Security Solution so that end users with administrator rights cannot kill the service.

About Arellia: Arellia provides solutions for privilege management, application whitelisting, securing local administrator accounts, and compliance remediation. Arellia products are integrated with the Symantec Management Platform and sold through Symantec.
