Norton Study Shows Online Harassment At Epidemic Proportions for Young New Zealand Women
AUCKLAND, New Zealand – 20 July 2016 – Norton by Symantec (NASDAQ: SYMC) today released research which reveals that almost three quarters of New Zealand women (72 percent) under the age of 30 have experienced some form of online harassment. Norton Survey Reveals Australians Overlook Security Risks on Mobile Apps for IoT Devices
SYDNEY, Australia – 31 May 2016 – Norton by Symantec today released survey findings from more than 5,000 consumers from Australia, the USA, UK, Canada and Japan about consumer fears associated with the changing ‘connected world’ and the proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT). The survey reveals adoption of the use of mobile apps to control connected devices is highest in Australia, with almost two-thirds (63 percent) of the Australian respondents using at least one mobile app to manage their finances or control connected devices such as home entertainment systems, fitness trackers, baby monitors, cars, home entry systems, light switches and smart home appliances.

Symantec Appoints Brian Fletcher as Director of Government Affairs
Sydney, AUSTRALIA — 17 May 2016 — Symantec has appointed Brian Fletcher as the Director of Government Affairs for the company’s Australian, New Zealand, Japan and Korean operations. Based in Canberra, Fletcher will be leading Symantec’s engagement with governments and stakeholders on public policy and providing expert advice on cybercrime issues across the region. He will also be working to expand Symantec’s existing public-private partnerships.
