Symantec On-Premise Software Products

The Maintenance which protects your perpetual software is for a finite term (usually one year) and must be renewed to ensure continued access to your entitlements including critical content updates, Version Upgrades, product updates and technical support. Find out how to renew.

How to Renew

When it’s time to renew, follow these three simple steps:

  1. Identify the maintenance entitlements requiring renewal per your License or Support Certificate(s). Multiple individual end-dates may be aligned (“co-termed”) to a single renewal date.
  2. Have your proof of purchase details ready in order to validate ownership. Your Renewal ID is your proof of purchase (you’ll find your Renewal ID on Symantec renewal notification emails and renewal quotations).
  3. Contact your reseller to place your order. Find a Reseller.

In Australia and New Zealand Symantec have contracted Renewtrak to assist with its smaller value renewals. Renewtrak provides a service which allows our smaller customer to self-service their renewal while maintaining their relationship with their Channel partner. This Service is only for customers with a Renewal Contract worth less than $2000 USD.

Who is Renewtrak?

Renewtrak is an Renewals Service Provider with offices across the world, that specialises in developing and deploying renewal services for technology organisations on a white label basis. By automating the renewal process, Renewtrak allows Channel Partners to stay engaged with customers in the small business market segment, ensuring high renewal rates for even the smallest renewal opportunities.

 

Note: Effective 9th May 2016, Symantec is discontinuing its 30 day grace period (Japan, 3rd October 2016). Symantec is taking this step to align its renewal policy with its security strategy. From this date, you must renew prior to expiry date to remain protected and avoid higher renewal costs and penalties.

Reinstatement

Late renewals are subject to penalty and associated late renewal fees.

Compliance

Symantec takes non-compliance seriously. You must be properly licensed with current maintenance per your End User License Agreement in order to access maintenance benefits. Read Symantec’s Enterprise Renewals Policy for more information on your compliance obligations.

Symantec.cloud Hosted Products

Hosted software, delivered by Symantec.cloud products, is sold via subscription for a predetermined term and must be renewed for continued access to both your service and Maintenance benefits.

How to Renew

Depending on the .cloud product, the majority of subscriptions are automatically renewed, thereby ensuring uninterrupted access to the service. Opt-out information is provided in the Service Description for your product which you can find here. For products that do not automatically renew, you are reminded that if you don’t renew your subscription on time, you will no longer be able to access your service.
