Project Dolphin eats malicious phish

Sixty percent of hostnames are live for 24 hours or less: many exist only for criminal activity. Symantec’s Project Dolphin scours the world’s websites to determine if they appear similar to ‘known phishing’ sites, preventing victims from taking the bait.

With machine learning and advanced image analysis, we apply the technology to more than 1.2 billion web requests each day. Symantec has uncovered 137,000 new phishing campaigns since Dolphin’s release, blocking attempts across our endpoint, email, and web security product portfolio.
