The numbers tell their own story. When Sonol standardized on an integrated Symantec data protection, messaging security, and email security infrastructure, more than 99 percent of spam was eliminated before it entered corporate systems, saving each of the 500 users at this dynamic Israeli oil marketing organization 30 minutes per day in email administration. A virtualization strategy has helped Sonol to reduce its server footprint by 50 percent, while Symantec NetBackup has cut Sonol’s heterogeneous storage backup window from 12 hours to 6 hours and increased the backup success rate from 80 percent to almost 100 percent. An imminent upgrade to NetBackup 7 is also anticipated to enhance and streamline the company’s virtual machine protection, reduce the size of the NetApp storage infrastructure by at least 100GB, and lower the risk of missed backups or unprotected data.
