Description

NetApp SnapManager for Oracle is prone to an unspecified local information-disclosure vulnerability. Local attackers can exploit this issue to obtain sensitive information or perform unauthorized actions on data. Versions prior to NetApp SnapManager for Oracle 3.4.2P1 are vulnerable.

Recommendations

Permit local access for trusted individuals only. Where possible, use restricted environments and restricted shells.
Ensure that only trusted users have local, interactive access to affected computers.

Run all software as a nonprivileged user with minimal access rights.
Run all non-administrative software as a non-administrative user with the least amount of privileges required to successfully operate. This will greatly reduce the potential damage that successful exploitation may achieve.
