This Signature detects attempts to exploit buffer overflow vulnerability in AOL Desktop.

AOL Desktop 9.6 is an application that provides all-in-one AOL software.

The application is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input. This issue occurs when the application handles malicious '.rtx' files.

Successful exploits may allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application. Failed exploit attempts will cause denial-of-service conditions.
