This signature detects attempts to exploit a buffer overflow vulnerability in Multiple VMware products which may lead to arbitrary code execution.

Additional Information

Multiple VMware products are prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability. This issue occurs because the application fails to perform adequate boundary-checks when processing UDF file systems.

An attacker can exploit this issue by enticing an unsuspecting victim to install an operating system from a malicious ISO image.

Successful exploits will allow attackers to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition.
