  • 1.  Disk full in TSE server with .XFR File

    Hi,

We have a Windows Server 2003 use in TSE. In directory "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition\7.5\xfer_tmp", we have a lot of files with an extension .XFR (exemple, 482D3501.xfr, 482D32A5.xfr, ....). Every file have a size of 28321Ko.

Every five minutes, a new .XFR file is create. This is a real problem for the disk space on this server.

Do you know why this files exist, and how can I resolve this problem ?

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Hi Yann,

I would recommend you to do the following:

    1. Stop the Symantec Antivirus service
    2. Delete the xfer_temp folder
    3. Update your definitions manually in that server: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/download/pages/US-SAVCE.html
    4. Start the service again

Looks like the server is trying to create a definition folder and it's failing.

Let us know if that helps
