    Hi,

Live update is not working correctly for me.  It won't run @ all.  I received a self-contained downloadable executable from the University that I attend, so I do not have the abilitiy to add/remove individual parts of the Endpoint installation, nore do I have licencing information to download updated installation files.  I found in another thread someone w/ a very similar situation to mine a solution. However, I need to get an updated 11.06a installation file, as well as an updated liveupdate file 3.04 apparently.  Here is the link to the thread where I found out this information, please advise on how to continue.

    Thank you for any help

    Are you using any proxy?

If yes the Go to Control Panel and select  Symantec Liveupdate and Configure the Proxy.   then launch LiveUpdate again.

No, I am not behind a proxy.  I have tried installing, uninstalling it several times, and cannot get it to work.  From the previous linked post it seems that an updated installer will fix this issue, is there anyway to obtain one without a specific product key?  I've checked on my University website and they don't have any information available relating to a serial number.

    Thanks

Go to control panel and start the Live Update.
If nothing starts, then the Live Update engine is totally dead and there is no way out except uninstalling it and reinstalling. you can download the latest version of Live Update from the Symantec website: http://service1.symantec.com/support/sharedtech.nsf/docid/1999051911110813

But if the Live Update starts and finishes with an error, please tell us the error.

In many cases reinstalling the Live Update solves the issue (many cases not all the cases!)

    To add to Farzad's notes...

You can run LiveUpdate by simply doing Start > Run > LUALL > Ok.
For SEP, you need to run LiveUpdate version 3.3.
     - LiveUpdate 3.4 and 3.5 are for other Symantec (Norton) products.

The LiveUpdate log is found in:
    C:\ProgramData\Symantec\LiveUpdate
     - Post the file called Log.LiveUpdate here and we can see if there's anything obvious.
