Hello, we have a SEP 11.x infrastructure, now windows servers 2012 are deployed. i see that SEP 11.x do not support WS2012 clients.

I think that an upgrade to SEP 12 will be planned in the (near) future, but for now, is there a way of manage the situation ?

I suppose that I need to install a SEP manager 12 to create a setup package with SEP 12 clients or is there a download package for SEP 12 clients ?

Is this R2? If only 2012 (not R2) you can try this

How many 2012 server you have in your network?

    12.1.3 can support 2012 . For R2 you need to have 12.1.4

    go to https://fileconnect.symantec.com

    put the serial number

    download 12.1.3

run the sep from SEP folder ( this will install the client as unmanged mode)

when you upgrade your SEPM to 12.1.3 or .4

You can use this method to make them as managed

    Hi,

Windows Server 2012 is the server version of Windows 8.  Here's a little info about it, including estimated release dates, from a quick Internet search:

    http://rcpmag.com/articles/2011/02/01/the-2011-microsoft-product-roadmap.aspx#server8

There is at present no SEP version which runs on Windows 8.  "Thumbs up" to the suggestions above about the beta of SEP 12.1 RU2.  Also, you may wish to show your support by voting for this enhancement request:

    Hello,

If you are planning to upgrade or migrate to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.3, please take a look at the latest how-to article created by our very own SEP content council team.

However, In your case, you could either perform the steps above provided by Brian

    OR

Import the SEP 12.1 client packages to the SEPM 11.x and deploy the same to all clients via Auto-upgrade.

    Dear Swing,

SEP 11 is not supported on Windows 2012 and there's no workaround for that, you need to install SEP 12.1 on them.

You cannot manage SEP 12.1 clients from your SEP Manager 11, thus you need a dedicated SEPM 12.1 or have them self-managed.

Thanks Giuseppe. Self-managed means that they can get signatures updates only from the symantec internet site ?

Since these are servers, by default can not browse internet so in this case we need to configure a rule for them to allow connection to symantec

And, the self managed package can be downloaded from symantec fileconnect ?

Yes , if you download the entire CD1 of SEPM 12.1

when you extract it you will get a folder named SEP install from there.
